Costume research

We had to come up with different costume ideas to fit with the variety of settings that we are using, we also had to take into consideration the weather and mood of the song when filming, because we didn't want Becca and Viki to freeze when we were outside and also we didn't want really bright coloured costumes for quite a slow, dramatic song. We wanted both of the actors to look similar and colour coordinated, but with most of the settings they will wear the same thing because it will look more professional this way.

POWDER PAINT SETTING
 

We decided that for this setting it would be best to wear all black, so we went with simple black leggings and a top, which both actors wouldn't mind if these items would get covered in powder paint. We decided that all black would be best because it would allow the neon powder paint to show up the best, and it will go with the mood of the song, which is quite mysterious and dramatic.






WOODS SETTING

When we filmed for this setting it was very cold so we decided that we would wear casual summer dresses, with black tights/leggings, boots and thick, fur hooded winter coats. For make up we went for a natural look and both actors had their hair down. We thought this would be best as it is stylish but also went well with the woods as a background, especially with the cold winter sunshine and the trees.



STAGE SETTING

When we film the stage scene we feel that the two singers should wear smart dresses and smart shoes to fit in with the glamour of being on a stage, both singers will also have a microphone and a stand whilst singing. We feel that this could also be considered quite dramatic because the stage will be low lit, and we are hoping to have a single spotlight on each singer whilst we film them.

BLACK AND WHITE SETTING

The costume for this setting will contrast each background, so for the black background the singer will wear a white top, and for the white background the singer will wear a black top. We will most likely only be filming from the waist upwards so we haven't considered any other garment for this setting except the monochrome tops against the plain backgrounds. We thought this idea would be good as it will create contrast, and we will use this setting a lot for the verses in the song as they are a slower tempo.
